I have a new to me 2011 sportsman 500 HO non EBS. the belt/CVT makes a noise when in park or neutral, goes away when i throttle up in park or neutral too. the previous owner said he changed the belt last year.1) drop the pan, clean and replace the filter and magnet, trans parts. 2) refill the trans with the factory subaru fluid. 3) replace both front and rear diff fluids (use the factory subaru gear oil) I know servicing these types (pump in fluid, set fluid level at certain temps, etc..) of gearboxes is not a fun task.The engine revving fast and then slow is me playing with the gas pedal to try to manipulate the whine.
