Bard 10 is really, really good. Bard 11 I don't really care for. Their 6th levels spells aren't worth it. But Bard 10 is amazing. I would do that, a level in fighter for archery fighting style, shield proficiency so you can have a shield on your melee set and get the AC boost even when you have crossbows out, and second wind (which scales off character level in BG3 rather than fighter level)..
